The Neurological Benefits of Compassion

In this 15 minute TedX talk, Dr. Doty reminds us of our unfortunate evolutionary baggage: our tendency to be continuously highjacked by the flight, fight response. But what if we could highjack our brains in the other direction and potentiate our ability to be compassionate, to care for others, to rest in peace and calmness. He argues that 15 minutes of silent meditation, where we focus our intention on being compassionate, will go a long way to combat stress, depression and anxiety.
